Mini Mandala Slouchy Tam Pattern

This  post was originally for the digital PDF pattern, which was for sale in my Etsy and Ravelry shops. The new version of the pattern is not in PDF but instead available for FREE on my blog as the Mandala Tam Pattern. Thanks for visiting!

With instructions for three different styles, this versatile and fashionable tam is a perfect Easy level project for learning new skills while creating something exceptionally un-boring! Learn to work circular netted lace and post stitches with this functional hat that tames your locks and keeps damp hair from freezing in the wintertime. Crochet the rounds following the instructions for color-changing to create a colorful mandala, or use a self-striping yarn to create the illusion of color change without the extra work.

Pattern includes 3 different sizes, all with sized to fit an adult head with a brim of about 21-23”.

Inspired by the original netted hat I designed years ago, this one comes out chunkier, slouchier, and easier than either the original or the other spin-off, the Filigree Lace Cap. The post stitches on the brim create more elasticity, and the largest size allows you to stuff quite a lot of hair up there.

As someone with an extremely low maintenance hair regimen, these hats save my butt during the semester – I can just stuff my hair up there and go! <3
